Home from home boarding is exactly that. We carry out extensive on boarding to find out as much about your pet as we can. We endeavour to replicate as much of your dogs normal daily routines as possible. With only one household boarded at anytime, we can tailor our care to your dogs specific needs.

At Jacks Place we board dogs from 7 years and above. Provided your dog meets our onboarding criteria, we can cater for dogs up to any age.

We are experienced senior dog owners. We understand the specific needs of older dogs. And how worrying it can be to leave your ageing pets. Our homes are set out to adapt to most older dogs' physical needs, with equipment such as ramps, and we can adapt to most health needs.

We understand that as dogs age, their needs change. We will check in with you regularly to ensure we are prepared for what your dog will require during their stay. We are first aid trained. However we may not be able to cater to all health issues. Fully incontinent dogs, dogs with mobility issues or those that require a high level of care will be assessed on a case by case basis.

All Jacks Place associates understand that your dog comes first. Your dog will not be left for long periods of time and we can adapt to your dog's normal routine. Our associates are prepared for most situations. Such as short walks, night time potty breaks, lifting onto furniture, stairs and beds. Your dog is welcome to sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. Some associates will have their own pets and we will ensure your dog is safe and comfortable before accepting a booking.

Jack's place associates are experienced dog owners and will have studied basic dog behaviour. We are not dog trainers and will assess a dog's reactivity during the meet and greet and trial days. We cannot accept dogs that are aggressive towards people or other dogs.

Our onboarding includes a client protocol questionnaire. We understand that emergencies can happen for dogs of any age. However for seniors this can be a worry. We are registered with emergency vets and have an extensive protocol discussed with you that we will follow should the worst happen.

Yes. All new clients will be required to attend a meet & greet session before a booking is confirmed. Trial days and over nights will also be required for dogs boarding with associates who own other pets. This is a chargeable service. And will ensure your pet is 100% ready for their stay with us.

You will need to provide everything your dog might need to keep them comfortable. This includes food, treats, beds, bowls, blankets, leads, harness for the car, medication, toys and any other items you feel they might need. If your dog uses a crate then please let us know this at time of booking. Our associates will provide their own poo bags and a seat belt adapter for the car. We may from time to time offer your dog additional snacks, food or treats. We will discuss this with you at the meet and greet.

All dogs must be spayed or neutered as standard to comply with our council licence. We can make exceptions for very senior dogs, on a case by case basis. All dogs are also required to be microchipped and up to date with vaccinations. We will accept a TITRE certificate from a vet for pets too poorly to be vaccinated.
